Reflection on the design of an outdoor patio can be both entertaining and confusing. You might be fun to imagine your family and friends. Maybe relaxing quietly enjoy peace and calmness is a beautiful thought, or even listening to a few drops of water. Yet how do you go about creating a patio design that you will truly be happy? Where do you start?
There are many aspects to take into account the design.
1. How do you need large patio of your being? Is it fair to a small seating area for the two, or do you need the space to accommodate large groups of people? As a guide, a sixty-inch round table and chairs would require approximately fifteen feet of space. This allows chairs to be maneuvered and also provide access around the furniture. A show needs about ten feet of space. A patio, which is fifteen feet by twenty feet, or approximately 300 square feet in size is decent.
2. Working with a design that looks good on the architecture of your home. Sometimes, the simple geometric shapes and interesting paving patterns look elegant. In other situations, curvilinear designs beautiful mixture and could in a natural environment.
3. What about paving material? Looking for a cheap solution? Colored concrete works well. I suggested this to a client on a budget, and they loved. I designed the concrete so that he inspired with large spaces for interest. Have you set your heart on natural stone? Travertine pavers are increasingly popular. They are real, but are carved in stone in the shape regular for easy access, installation under sec. Bluestone is always beautiful, either thrown into a dry mortar or discarded. You can choose between regular or irregular shapes.
4. How high above the ground is your door? If there is a period of four to eight inches difference in inches, you can just plan to embark on the patio. However, if your door is higher, some creative design work must be done. On several occasions, I created a nice size for landing on the stage. From this, a few steps are planned until the terrace. This provides a comfortable space to step on, and not just a small step. If your door is very high, you can also add a few steps off the patio. The ideas is to create a gradual transition to the surface.
5. Seat walls are a nice addition to patios. They provide not only an attractive thing to watch and vertical, but also additional seating and a great place for conversation. Seat walls must be eighteen to twenty-four inches high and at least a foot deep. The top of the wall must be flat. For example, if the seat wall must be made of natural stone, a blue cap offers a comfortable seat and as a resting place for food or drinks.
6. Think of a few features to add to your patio. The sound of water from a natural pond or formal board or in the vicinity is both beautiful and peaceful. Maybe a sculpture works well in the design. If your patio is in a warm and sunny, consider a trellis or pergola from the shadows.
You can even include a simple bird bath fountain.
Taking all these elements of design will lead to a patio project that is aesthetic, functional and pleasant.
